We are fully certified to take care of all of your energy efficiency needs!

BPI Building Analyst - As BPI Building Analysts, we've learned basic principles of building science to assess energy efficiency in a home while also monitoring conditions that have a direct impact on human health and safety. BPI Standards emphasize the 'house-as-a-system' approach to inspecting a home, meaning that all systems are interconnected from the HVAC equipment, to the envelope, the foundation, walls, roof, doors and windows. An energy auditor with BPI certification gives homeowners peace of mind knowing the professional meets the national standards of the Building Performance Institute having passed both a written and a hands-on field exam.

BPI Envelope Professional - BPI Envelope Professional certification is a BPI residential specialization that focuses on the building thermal and pressure boundaries and the ways to enhance the envelope through insulation and airsealing techniques. Every home is different and it is important to understand not only what is happening, but why problems related to the building envelope such as moisture, ice dams, mildew and drafts were created in the first place

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® (HPwES) - Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program is one of the great programs through ENERGY STAR. Missouri residents who have KCPL & MGE can receive low-cost energy audits. There are only a few companies in the Kansas City area who are certified to participate in this program. Green CAT Services is one of them. Auditors must first receive BPI Certification, EETC Certification, carry certain insurance, and pass background checks before being qualified for this certification.

Missouri State Certified Auditor - Certified by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to perform home energy audits homeowners and business owners.  Auditors must first receive BPI Certification, as well as EETC Certification before being certified by the State of Missouri.

BPU Certified - Certified and approved to perform energy audits through the BPU $50 Home Energy Audit Program.  Only six companies are approved.

EETC Certified Professional - Certification in residential energy auditing. The audit involves a top-to-bottom inspection of the residence, a series of diagnostic tests, and a numerical analysis by means of a software package. Auditors inspect, measure, and test to decide what energy-saving retrofits are practical and cost-effective.

Efficiency Kansas Certified Auditor - Certified by the State of Kansas to perform home energy audits eligible for the Efficiency Kansas Loan Program. The goals of the Efficiency Kansas Loan Program are to produce cost-effective, firm energy savings and require a comprehensive approach based on sound building science principles. Auditors must first receive BPI Certification, EETC Certification, pass a field test with a State of Kansas Energy Office official, and pass a written exam with a 90% score or greater before being certified by the State of Kansas.

Certified Thermographer Without thermal imaging (infrared), things go unseen. That's why Green CAT is certified in infrared. One of, if not the only, energy auditing firm in Kansas City to be Infrared Certified, Green CAT is ready to detect sources of air leakage, moisture issues, electrical issues, and more.

MEC Certified - Certified by the Metropolitan Energy Center to perform audits for the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program and the EnergyWorks KC program.

Lead-Safe Certified Firm - The EPA’s Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) rule requires certification of contractors and maintenance staff performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint (LBP) and it applies when renovators impact LBP in pre-1978 homes.
